Turkey e-Visa from Pakistan — Complete Guide

Last updated: October 2026 · 8 minute read

Turkey is one of the most popular travel destinations for Pakistanis — Istanbul, Antalya, Cappadocia, and the Turkish Riviera attract tens of thousands annually. However, Pakistani passport holders need a visa before travel, and the easy e-Visa route has a specific condition.

Turkey e-Visa — Conditional for Pakistanis

As of 2026, Pakistani passport holders can apply for the online Turkey e-Visa only if they hold a valid visa or residence permit from one of the following:

  • Schengen Area country
  • United Kingdom
  • United States
  • Republic of Ireland

The visa/residence permit must be valid at the time of your Turkey entry.

Who Qualifies for e-Visa

  • Hold a Pakistani passport valid 6+ months beyond arrival
  • Have a valid Schengen, UK, US, or Ireland visa (any type — tourist, student, work, residence)
  • Travel for tourism or commerce only (not work)
  • Stay no more than 30 days per entry

e-Visa Details

  • Validity: 180 days from issue
  • Stay allowed: up to 30 days per entry
  • Entries: single entry
  • Fee: approximately $60 USD (via online payment)
  • Processing time: minutes to 24 hours

How to Apply Online

  1. Visit the official evisa.gov.tr (beware of imitation sites that charge extra)
  2. Select nationality: Pakistan
  3. Select travel document: Ordinary Passport
  4. Confirm you hold a qualifying visa/residence permit
  5. Enter travel date
  6. Fill in passport details, address, email
  7. Pay fee by credit/debit card
  8. Receive e-Visa PDF by email
  9. Print and carry on arrival

Documents at Entry

At Turkish immigration, you may be asked to show:

  • Printed e-Visa
  • Valid passport
  • Qualifying Schengen/UK/US/Ireland visa or residence card
  • Return or onward ticket
  • Hotel reservation or address
  • Proof of sufficient funds ($50 USD per day minimum)

If You Don't Have a Qualifying Visa — Sticker Visa

If you don't hold any of the qualifying visas, you need to apply for a traditional sticker visa at:

  • Turkish Embassy, Islamabad
  • Turkish Consulate, Karachi

Sticker Visa Process

  1. Book appointment online via consulate website
  2. Complete application form
  3. Attend in person with documents
  4. Pay visa fee (approximately $80 USD)
  5. Submit biometrics if required
  6. Processing: 15 working days or more

Sticker Visa Documents

  • Passport valid 6+ months with 2 blank pages
  • Application form
  • 2 biometric photos
  • Round-trip flight reservation
  • Hotel bookings for entire stay
  • Travel insurance (€30,000 coverage)
  • Bank statement — last 3 months
  • Employment letter + salary slips
  • Business documents (if self-employed)

Common Issues

e-Visa Issued Despite Not Qualifying

The e-Visa system doesn't verify your Schengen/UK/US visa at application. You can accidentally get an approved e-Visa without a qualifying visa. However, at Turkish immigration, if you cannot show one, you'll be denied entry and returned.

Expired Qualifying Visa

Your Schengen/UK/US/Ireland visa must be valid on the day of entry to Turkey, not just when you applied for the e-Visa. If it expires before your Turkey trip, the e-Visa is invalid.

Residence Permits Count

A Pakistani resident of UK, Schengen, or US with a valid residence permit (BRP, Carte de Séjour, Green Card, etc.) qualifies — residence permit works just like a visa for this purpose.

Travel Tips

  • Istanbul: most Pakistani flights arrive here; stay in Sultanahmet (historic) or Taksim (modern)
  • Cappadocia: hot air balloons, cave hotels — book 2+ months ahead
  • Antalya: beach resorts, Mediterranean coast
  • Bodrum/Fethiye: upscale coastal escapes
  • Trabzon/Uzungöl: Black Sea region, popular with Pakistani travellers

Visa-Free Through Turkey to Other Countries

Turkey is often a connection for Pakistani travellers heading to Europe or Asia. Transit through Istanbul airport (IST or SAW) doesn't require a visa if you stay in the transit area.
