What's Included in the Fee

The amounts shown are government fees only. Depending on your country, visa type, and application route, you may also pay:

  • Visa application centre fees (VFS Global, TLScontact, BLS, Gerry's) — typically PKR 4,000–8,000
  • Biometric enrolment — often included, sometimes charged separately
  • Priority or super-priority processing — PKR 15,000–60,000 extra for faster decisions
  • Courier and SMS tracking — small optional charges
  • Translation and attestation — if required for supporting documents

UK Visa Fees from Pakistan

UK visa fees are set by UKVI and reviewed annually, usually increasing in April. The Standard Visitor Visa covers tourism, visiting family, business meetings, and short courses. Long-term visitor visas (2, 5, and 10 years) cost more upfront but save significantly if you travel to the UK regularly. For a UK Health and Care Worker route or Skilled Worker visa, you'll also pay the Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS) separately.

US Visa Fees from Pakistan

The US charges a flat Machine Readable Visa (MRV) fee of $185 for most nonimmigrant categories including B1/B2, F1, and J1. H1B and L1 visas are $205. The MRV fee is paid before scheduling your interview. Depending on reciprocity between the US and Pakistan, there may be an additional issuance fee charged after approval.

Schengen Visa Fees

A standard Schengen Type C short-stay visa costs €90 for adults, €45 for children aged 6–12, and is free for children under 6. The fee is the same whether you apply through the French, German, Dutch, Italian or any other Schengen embassy — but service centre charges vary by provider.

Why Fees Change

Governments review visa fees periodically. The UK typically increases fees every April. The US adjusted MRV fees in June 2023 (B1/B2 went from $160 to $185). Schengen fees were last raised from €80 to €90 in June 2024. Always verify the current fee on the official embassy website before paying.

Common Questions

Can I pay visa fees in Pakistani Rupees?

Most visa application centres in Pakistan accept payment in PKR via bank deposit, credit card, or online banking. The amount is calculated at the embassy's official exchange rate on the day of payment, which may differ from market rates.

Is the visa fee refundable if I'm refused?

No. Visa fees are non-refundable regardless of outcome. If your application is refused, you'll need to pay the fee again to reapply.

Do children pay the same fee?

It varies by country. Schengen offers reduced fees for children; UK, US and Canada charge the same for all ages. Always check the specific policy.
